Jan. 30 Fellowship Meeting

Minutes of the Fellowship Meeting held on January 30, 2009, 8pm at the Caltex Bar and Dales Garden.

Highlights of the Agenda:
1. Donations/Solicitations Updates
-A batchmate working abroad who requested anonymity donated $48.96 (approximately P2,300) to the batch fund. Thank you so much Chinky!
-Online solicitations will be started this February for the batchmates abroad. Several of them who has contact with us have made their pledges and commitments.

2. Maribel's Birthday
-Batch Secretary Maribel Liquido-Heider who celebrated her birthday, January 30, 2009, invited the Batch to a dinner party in her place. Rendezvous: Caltex Bar, 6pm, everyone will convoy. (Update as of republishing this post, Maribel's birthday party was postponed due to health concerns).

3. Proposed Projects
-In addition to the identified projects, Ms. Jesalyn Abonates suggested a Computer Tutorial Training for the teachers in remote areas of the city. An accredited module of TESDA will be followed. While the suggestion is okay, the team would need computer sets for hands-on training of the trainees. Anybody who can offer help?

4. Job Matching
-To address unemployment of the batchmates, everyone who are looking for jobs are requested to send their resumes to the Chairman at snnhs98@yahoo.com for job and qualifications matching.

Other matters:
5. SEC Registration
-Mr. Bullo moved to register the Batch with the Securities and Exchange Commission to formalize the organization and gain official status. This is to qualify for whatever opportunities coming to the batch. More so, that Mr. Chairman found opportunity in forging partnership with the United Nations Volunteer Association, a UN group working for sustainable human development through the spirit of volunteerism.

6. Night Cafe
-As taken up in the previous meeting, the Chairman moved to delay registering with the Night Cafe management to further study its feasibility and while manpower volunteers are being scouted.

7. Colindong's assistance to the Batch
-As previously discussed here in the blog's shoutbox, Ms. Mylene Colindong showed great interest in providing assistance to the projects of the batch. A project profile was asked so that she can present it to the group who is interested in helping us in reaching with the needy in the community.
