Minutes of the 1st Officers Meeting

MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE SNNHS BATCH 98 OFFICERS AND MEMBERS
December 29, 2008, 7PM

Highlights of the agenda:

1. BATCH 98 OBJECTIVE: “Leave a legacy: a share of care to remember.”
Being a decade older since high school years, the objective of the batch is to leave a legacy to the alma mater by actively participating not only in its social functions and causes but also to serve the community by conducting worthy and worth remembering activities.
Coming up with a BATCH FUND is the number one agenda and priority activity of the officers. One identified activity to generate fund is to seek help from the fortunate and well-blessed batch-mates, working domestic and abroad. Solicitations will be sent to the following identified batchmates abroad:

Solicitations will also be floated to the highly professional batchmates like the following:

Bankers:

-Police Officers: Jonas Alburo, Rigor Puyales

Initial fund used to open an account with the SRBC will be coming from the contributions of the officers for 200 each. During the meeting, P1,200 was collected.

To gather ample amount, it was also suggested to conduct revenue-generating activities like raffles and Solidarity Nights.

This fund will be used to finance future activities of batch 98 including but not limited to attendance in yearly alumni homecoming. President Jun Piong is optimistic to gather a good number of attendances during the conduct of these homecomings.

To establish transparency and update the batch with the Batch Fund’s finances, a monthly financial statement will be posted in the batch blog.

2. BATCH 98 BLOG account: http://snnhs98.blogspot.com/ is now functional to serve as the bulletin and medium of exchange of information and updates of Batch 98. The blog will initially contain:
-Welcome message
-Article on Alumni 2008 participation c/o Pauline Alfante
-Article on Reunion last December 27 c/o Pauline Alfante
-The List of Officers
-Roster of 98 graduates by section
-Side bar menu for Batch 98 Friendster and individual account links, Individual Facebook/Multiply/Myspace account links, list of Batch Fund Donors, and other links.

Contributions like write-ups on batch gatherings, class gatherings, travels and gigs with friends, weddings, christenings, and other events are welcome. Assistance from volunteer experts in creating the blog layout is also welcome.

3. BATCH 98 YAHOO! GROUP will also be created to keep in touch with the batch online. Email addresses of batchmates will be gathered.

4. SOCIAL OUTREACH PROGRAM will be conducted to the community once an ample amount of fund is collected. Community programs will include:
-Feeding Program
-Bundle of Joy
-Sponsor a Student Scholarship Program
-Donate a book
-Home-building assistance in tandem with the Gawad Kalinga

5. HAND A JOB is another program aimed at helping unemployed batchmates find a job by establishing linkages with other batchmates for referrals. A database of Batch 98 Profile will be created to identify who are capable of helping the unemployed members of the batch. A link with the working professionals around the country will also be created.

Other matters:
-Fund update to be periodically posted in the website for transparency
-Cost-cutting and wise usage of the fund should be implemented.
-Officers to meet twice a month
